LO4 Be able to record, edit and review sound elements
P5. Record the different sound elemets
|
Because of the short length of my radio advert, I only needed to use two voice actors other than myself. All of the lines were recorded within the same day, I made sure to make the speech of the characters easy to articulate. For the actor who played John, I instructed him to read the lines as if he was drunk which was then used to better connote the current health of the character.

Radio Advert Final Version
P6. Carry out the post-production edits to the sound elements
To the right it shows the screen shots I took from editing the radio advert. The first and second screen shot better show how once using the tools for cutting I was able to better place where everything should belong. The cutting tool can be found at the top as shown on image number 4.
Once very crucial edit I needed was the ability to edit the sound levels of each of the sound files, this is crucial for my advert as some of the files appeared much louder than the rest which took away from the illusion of a phone call conversation. Placing all of the soundtracks in a session allowed me to listen to all of the sound files at the same time, and also place background sound such as a pub sound effect. I also used a tool to change my actresses voice to a sound of a phone call. |

M2. Present the sound elements to gain feedback
To the right is the feedback I received fro my Unit 16 radio advert.
The feedback I received for improvement was firstly to add more sound effects which could help the media product be more appealing for the audience. This is because my advert is only using three sound effect which would be the voice changer for the voice actress, the background pub sound and the ring tone sound effect Another was the having more detail with the consequences of drinking and driving such as deaths and accidents. My advert has shown to have more statistics regarding the drunk drivers being caught by the police, adding the amount of deaths a year cause by these incidents may be an effective way of getting the Councils' message across to the audience. My last bit of feedback was in agreement with the last point of having more information for the listeners. I also received feedback from my teacher on how to improve the radio advert. One way would have been for the narrator to speak more slowly and to have added a reverb which would have made the voice sound more like an echo. |
