Presentation
P3 - Create a pitch to communicate an idea to a client.
The lessons I learned from this presentation is that hand gestures can help in a presentation by giving the impression that the person is being powerful with their words and expressions as this would help the audience understand better the speaker.
Including humour in the presentation also increases the chance of the audience feeling more relaxed and attentive when listening to the presentation. Strengths - The strengths of this presentation are shown through the use of language, body language, and hand gestures. What I mean by language is that he is aware that he is presenting in front of teenagers of his own age and to speak with a formal voice may not be very adequate for the presentation as it won't be likely to gain their attention. The use of informal language with this audience will gain their attention and engaged them comfortably to ask questions and have a conversation. Something else I mentioned was body language, he appears to keep a straight back that allows him to better project his voice to the audience and always keeps looking at his audience in the eyes whilst maintaining the conversation without any difficulty. I find this to be a benefit as not doing this technique can have a negative effect on the presentation for the audience such as for lack of understanding and attention. Lastly, his use of hand gestures are helpful for the presentation as it helps project the way he feels about his chosen subject. Weaknesses - Although he has followed many good examples of giving a good presentation for the audience, I find his weakness to be his lack of movement around the room. Moving around the room can help make the audience feel more relax and calm because the presenter would appear calm. The consequences of standing in the same location as can be found in this presentation are the lack of attention he draws in from the audience, if he is stationed in one place throughout the whole presentation it can often bore the audience and be disengaging for the people trying to listen. Another weakness I found compared to other presentations was the lack of a visual presentation for the audience. Having to listen to a person speak for more than five minutes can again be disengaging and it won't be rememberable as there is a lack of imagery for the audience. |
This presentation explores how keeping things simple such as the layout and key words, help the audience take home the information they were given during the presentation.
Having confidence seems key as this presentation describes, it helps with the audience paying more attention to the presentation than to you. Strengths - Clear layout and eye-catching pictures for the audience which will help to keep a memorable presentation in the audience's mind. In this presentation, there is also a use of audience interaction which helps keep the audience engaged in the conversation. Unlike the other, this one has three presenters which give them a benefit for presenting as the work can be evenly spread across. Weaknesses - The weakness of this presentation is the lack of consistency in the manner of presentation. Without mentioning names, one of them stands up, interacts with the audience and appears to be very natural when presenting. Although this is a benefit the other two don't meet those standards, one of the is sitting down and keeping her voice quiet and the other is uncomfortable making to many hand gestures and speaking nervously which can have a negative impact on the audience and presentation. These two are the example of doing too little effort for presentation which is bad and too much effort with the hand gestures and voice projection which comes out bad as well. |
M2 . Identify potential client questions and amend pitch and proposal documentation
Client's questions?
- Given the brief, how do you plan to target your chosen audience with your magazine?
For my magazine, I will be distributing adverts on social media and affiliating myself with other companies such as companies that sell tickets for discount online. I would be using social media to advertise the latest announcements in films and drawing them into my magazine for more information. By affiliating myself with other companies I can cross advertise my magazine and reach a larger audience reach.
- How often will your magazine be distributed to the public?
My first method of distributing my magazine to the audience will be using print, my magazine will be found within cinemas for the audience to read whilst they wait for their movie. Another method will be using digital copies that can be distributed using a website. The magazine copy of in website will be cheaper as it does not need to be printed.
- How does your magazine show it was produced by an independent company?
It shows it was made by an independent company as it has a more unique design and content within such as for the audience theories and audience review. Unlike other products that get their ratings from big company movie publishers.

I have made few changes to my presentation as I am happy with how it looks and the content within. I added extra information on how the distribution would be different depending on the potential attendance of the audience to the cinema, what I mean by this is that depending on the year, there may be a higher attendance in the cinema, printing and distributing more magazines would make sense as there is a possibility for higher demand in those months. Seasons such as summer and winter is when there is a large audience attendance due to seasonal films. Instead seasons such as September where most viewers are busy with education or work, there is a lower attendance to the cinema. To present better visuals I have enlarged pictures to show the evidence showing how this magazine will target my intended audience, for example on page 7, the image shows how the target audience has the highest attendance to cinema films. As this presentation will be for potential investors, I need to present data that will support my claims of why my product is what they are looking for.
